Dunya Zahma: driving through Cairo trafficDunya Zahma: an Italian tourist rides with you and teaches you words

What is Dunya Zahma?

“Zahma” is the Egyptian word for a traffic jam, and anyone who has driven in Cairo knows the feeling. In Dunya Zahma you ride a tuk-tuk through that famous traffic. Riders wait for you on the street, you take them to their place, and every trip earns you coins. The more trips you finish, the further the story goes.

The riders are not just passengers. They are characters who talk to you during the trip, and that is where the learning happens: Dunya Zahma teaches you words from other languages through these short conversations, and the game reads each word aloud so you hear how it is really pronounced.

Learn words while you play Dunya Zahma

Every new word you meet is saved, so you can see how many words you have learned so far. The pronunciation uses the text-to-speech voice that is already on your phone, so it sounds clear and natural. The first time you use a language, your phone may download its voice once.

Because the words come inside a story and a real trip, they are easier to remember than a list in a textbook. It is a light way to pick up some vocabulary on the way home, on a break, or before you sleep.

Cairo, its food and its characters

The characters in Dunya Zahma talk like real Cairo people. Some of them will tell you about well-known places to eat in the city, and some will recommend the Egyptian recipe app Bites bel Arabi if you want to cook something at home. These are only lines in the story: nothing opens, installs or gets sent by itself.
